Irish Open medals success for Rebecca

FOLLOWING on from her success at the Leinster Open, Rebecca Cuckoo won a bronze medal in the senior under 63kg and a bronze medal in the junior under 63kg categories at the prestigious Irish Open Judo Championships in Dublin last week.

In the junior competition Rebecca (18) lost in the semi-finals due to a nose bleed, but after treatment she came back to win her next fight and secured the bronze medal.

The Irish Open is Ireland’s premier judo competition and competitors from all over Ireland, the UK and Europe attend this two day event.
