Isaac leads list of Chujo winners at NI karate championships

Local karate practitioners of the Seven Towers Leisure Centre Karate Club enjoyed good success in the Annual Northern Ireland karate championships held recently in Banbridge Leisure Centre.

AMong the top performers was Ballymena club member Isaac Berrisford who won gold medals in both the individual free-sparring event and the individual kata disciplines.

Other local successess came from Portglenone club members Aaron Ball (bronze in individual free-sparring) and Catherine Nixon (bronze in indivdual kata).

There were further success for Chujo Karate Association members with Scott Kennedy from the Coleraine club securing gold in kata and bronze in free-sparring, while Jamie Dooey from the Ballymoney club won a bronze in individual free-sparring.

CHief coach of Chujo Karate Association Dan Redmond congratulated the competitors and said that their hard work had paid off.
