Islandderry Fishery set to host a charity contest in aid of building a school

Islandderry fishery is hosting a charity competition ‘Operation Wallacea’ on behalf of Colin & Monica McCard on Saturday February 8.

The competition is fly fishing only and open to everyone with prizes for the heaviest bag of 2 trout.

The entry fee is £25 which includes boat hire (book in advance), 2 fish catch and release and lunch. There will also be a ballot.

Monica is a mature student at Queens University studying Marine Biology and is going to Indonesia for five weeks working on her dissertation project. Monica is trying to raise money for the local community that she is going to and the money raised from the competition will be going towards building a school in the local village of Hoga Island, Indonesia.
