It was tough but Ballymoney win by odd goal in five

‘Money started of strong with the midfielders creating plenty of opportunity for the forward line consisting of Jess Lynch, Jess Moore and Robyn Chambers placing shots on goal but unfortunately not putting them past Pegasus’ keeper.

Money’s scored the opening goal in the 12th minute after breaking down a Pegasus attack and creating a counter attack leading to a well placed ball across the circle by Jess Moore and a super finish by Jess Lynch.

Pegasus worked hard to recover from this unusual position for them but the Money girls were having none of it and they consistently peppered the Pegasus circle looking for to add to their tally.

Their efforts were eventually rewarded when young Robyn Chambers slotted in from close range leaving the Pegasus keeper stranded.

The second half started at the same exhilarating pace as the first had ended, with both team creating lots of opportunities.

Pegasus started to find space and this put the Money defence and mid field under pressure which eventually paid off when Pegs were awarded a short corner, the initial strike was saved by Keeper Greer but the rebound fell into the path of McMahon who made no mistakes.

Money had fought too hard to have the game snatched from them now and counter attacked after the restart and they too received their just rewards when Nikki Parke deflected high into the Pegs net after a well worked short corner.

The game was highly entertaining for the remainder of the 2nd half which was appreciated from the large turnout on the sidelines and Pegs added to the drama when they again converted from a rebound at a penalty corner.

For the remainder of the match both keepers had to be on their toes to prevent any futher added to the tally with Greer pulling off some timely saves.

The match finished 3-2 much to the delight of the Money girls and their supporters..but Money had to wait till late in the Saturday afternoon to find out if they had qualified for the semi final...it was Pegasus again who go the shock result of the day when they finished a dure 0-0 draw with Randalstown...this was enough to give Money top spot in their section and they will now play Queen in the semi final of the Ulster shield st a date tome ands place to be confirmed
