Aidy McEvoy has pulled off a remarkable double

After winning the last Saturday Sweep of 2015, he proceeds to win the first Saturday sweep of 2016. How about that!

First- Aidy McEvoy (15) 28 points.

Second- Colin McDonald (16) 27 points.

Third- Malcolm Hanna (13) 27 points.

Fourth- Rory Madeley (5) 27 points.

SATURDAY 9TH JANUARY.

Heavy rain all week had left the golf course saturated. The members were fortunate that nine holes were still playable.

Eugene Weir, one of the most talented players the local club has ever produced, had an amazing round.

He went par four, birdie four, eagle two, birdie three, par three, par four, birdie two, par four and birdie four. That adds up to 30 gross, six under par and 27 stableford points.

The course is much shorter in winter time but it is still an incredible effort.

First- Eugene Weir (5) 27 points.

Second- Jim Cochrane (12) 25 points.

Third- Aidan Lavery (18) 24 points.

Fourth- P.J. Johnston (15) 23 points.
