It's not good enough

Manager's View v Distillery

ONCE again we didn’t start the game until the second half and by that time it was too late; the damage was done.

It’s very frustrating and it’s certainly not good enough. Some of them (the players) look as if they aren’t too bothered with what’s going on and there were some very poor performers out there on Saturday.

I’ve been moaning and groaning like this for the last lot of weeks and it’s been the same talk after each game. Their input and their effort is not good enough but it’s up to me to rectify that and sort it out.

I brought both of the strikers off at half-time because we couldn’t hold the ball up the park at all and we couldn’t take a breather at the back or anything like that. In saying that, the goals we conceded were poor goals as well. The first one was a free-header. (Gary) Thompson had a man delegated to mark him and he didn’t bother. He got on the wrong side of him but the same people don’t learn. Week in, week out they make the same mistakes and it’s not good enough.

Our back four was quite young with Hugh Davey, Mark Haughey, Jay Magee and young Brendan Shannon, who had an outstanding game I thought, and Andy Plummer in goals who is 20 as well and can only improve.
