Ivan’s ‘hot shot’ sparks Lisnagarvey

IVAN Craig’s rink recorded a “hot shot’’ at the third end and it sparked Lisnagarvey to an eight shots win at home to Divis in NIBA Division One.

The rink was Martin Nelson, Ken Armstrong, George Carson and Craig and theyy went on to record a 25 shots win which was cancelled out by a similar loss on another rink. In an absorbing game Neil Mulholland came good over the closing stages with only two shots in favour of Garvey overall and his win saw Garvey home.

Down 5-14 at the tenth and 10-18 at 15 ends a four at 16 ends helped Noel Graham narrow the losing margin to three shots.

Craig started with a four, added the eight and another four at the seventh to lead 25-3 at the tenth. Two threes helped Garvey to 33-6 at 15 ends and they went on to win by 25 shots.

Despite lifting three at the fourth Keith Morrison was 6-18 down at the tenth and 8-22 at 15 ends before losing by 25 shots.

A three at the ninth helped Neil Mulholland to 8-8 at the tenth but two threes gave him a 16-10 lead at 15 ends. A four at 17 ends and three at 19 ends gave Garvey victory by 11 shots.

The Lisnagarvey B match away to Sandown was postponed as the home team could not raise a full squad.
