James Elliott Tournament

YOUTH players are set to get together again this summer in memory of James Elliott, the promising Stranocum footballer who tragically died at such a young age.

The fourth year of the James Elliott Tournament will be held on Saturday 3rd August at Mosside Community Centre Playing Fields. Age groups are Primary School (if you have just left primary school in June past you can play) and Under 13s which is year 2000. Anyone wishing to take part in this should contact William or Lorraine McConaghie. William’s number is 07861216339.

Said William: “This is a highly recommended tournament which we would love to keep running in memory of James. James started his footballing career at Dervock Youths and was one of many who had a huge talent ahead of him. James loved his football and was so keen to get on with things and loved learning how he could improve.

“James had a bright future ahead of him with a fantastic personality anyone could have looked up to. James will always be remembered highly in the McConaghie Household. We not only had the honour to know James but we had pleasure to have coached and work along side James throughout his footballing career at Dervock Youths.”
