Jelly confirmed as Carrickblacker captain across midweek ceremony

Bryan Friar, the honorary treasurer, will serve as vice-captain across the season.

The Clubworld Travel New Year Tournament focus will turn to the semi-final stages tomorrow morning (Saturday) from 10 o’clock.

Ryan McKee will meet Craig Black, with Mervyn Adamson to face Neil Aston from 10.15 in the other last-four clash.

The final is set to start at 1 o’clock.

Players are reminded that the prize presentation has been booked for Saturday, March 26 from 5.45 and any matchplay qualifiers are asked to attend.

Billy Reid was first across the Clubworld 10-hole Stableford Sweep last weekend with 25 points.

Eric McAfee finished second on 24 over David Ross’ 22.5 tally, Stevie Grant on 22 and Sammy Forbes’ 21.5.

A Stableford competition has been planned for tomorrow (Saturday), with tee-off times in the Pro Shop.

In the ladies’ section, a midweek 10-hole sweep event featured Jean Barr home first on 22 points.

Karen Shaw was runner-up with 20 followed by Angela Wray.

To sign up for the 10-hole Scramble scheduled to take place on Tuesday simply fill in the locker-room timesheet.

The Lady Captain’s Easter competition will take place over 18 holes on Tuesday, March 29.

A timesheet has been posted in the locker-room, with ladies also asked to sign into the Pro Shop computer and enter scores via the touchscreen in the corridor.
