Jenny puts best foot forward in Edinburgh
Jenny Reynolds, from Carrickfergus, who is completely new to running, took part in her first 5K on Saturday.
Jenny, who normally travels along to support husband Neil Reynolds, decided to give running a go for herself and thoroughly enjoyed her first experience.
On Sunday the other runners took part in the half marathon event, and despite wet and windy conditions all managed to complete the course in respectable times.
Johnny O’Hagan achieved an impressive personal best in a time of 1:27, closely followed by Neil Porter who crossed the line at the 1:30 mark.
Caoime McCullough broke the two-hour mark with a time of 1:59, whilst Karen Young also achieved a personal best time of 2:05. Other finishers were Anne English with a time of 2:09, Mick Loughran (2:16), and Barbara Porter (2:17).
Diane Parker Hylands also finished the course, although her time has not yet been confirmed.
Neil Reynolds had to pull out of the race due to injury, however, he was able to cheer from the sidelines and support his daughter-in-law Natalie Reynolds, who finished the course in a time of 1:57.
Barn Runners’ co-founder and coach, Alan Rinchey, also made the journey to support the runners throughout the course.
