This was a very important match for them at this stage of the season, to remain high in their league. With a full team, everyone was determined and ready for a good match.

The first half was very tight with Larne making a few breaks but the Bann ladies defended well, and Kate Cunningham cleared the ball brilliantly.

After half time, Bann came out stronger and worked really well together with great passing up the line with Amy Carson and Katie Carson.

Bann were fighting hard against Larne, keeping the ball in Larne’s half and their dominance showed when they won a short corner. Bann took a quick short corner straight out to Kate Cunningham, with a quick slip pass to Joanna Berry who scored a fantastic goal, making it 1-0 to Banbridge, and deservedly so.

With just minutes left on the clock, Larne started to come back and were determined to peg Bann back or even overturn the advantage.

The Bann girls remained calm though and kept the ball in their possession well.

Both sides fought until the end but Bann just had enough to secure victory and claim a very hard-earned three points at Havelock Park.
