CLANN Eireann’s John Heverin is right back in winning form.

John followed that up with a fine fourth place in the two lap cycle race held at Dundrod last Saturday morning before the motorcyclists took to the roads.

On Sunday eight Clanns cyclists competed in the Apollo club’s Billy Stewart Memorial races at Derrymacash.

Kenny McConaghy took a good ninth place in the support race over 30 miles.

In the main race over 50 miles Martin McConville rode aggressively, getting in a good breakaway group which unfortunately faded at the halfway point.

Schoolboy Declan Mulholland with special permission from the governing body also performed well, finishing with the main group at the end.

Clann Eireann are promoting an open ten miles time trial today (Thursday) on the Birches to Portadown road. The start is set for 7pm.

The big action of the coming weekend however will be at Blackrock in County Louth where John Heverin will be leading a Clann Eireann team aiming for success at the Irish Veterans Time Trial Championships.

Next Monday evening at 7pm there will be a cycle skills session aimed at boys and girls aged between ten and sixteen. The venue is at the rear of Tannaghmore School, entrance from the North Circular Road. Newcomers are welcome, so long as they bring a bike, safety helmet and parental permission.
