Ricky Johnson completed a hat-trick as Banbury United cruised into the next round of the Evo-Stik Southern League Challenge Cup.

The Puritans thumped North Leigh 5-1 in Tuesday’s preliminary round tie at Eynsham Park where manager Mike Ford made several changes to his starting line-up.

Johnson gave United the first half lead and doubled his tally shortly after the restart before completing hat-trick moments later. New signing Giorgio Rasulo opened his account from the penalty spot, Amer Awadh made it 5-0 before Martin Griggs scored a consolation for North Leigh.
