Josh is U12s hat-trick hero

BANBRIDGE Rangers U12s travelled to Lurgan Town on Saturday morning looking to record their third victory on the trot and did just that with another superb all round team performance.

Joshua Lyttle also bagged his third hat-trick in a row to make it 10 goals in three games for the in form striker.

The Gers took control off proceedings after the early onslaught and opened the scoring when a well delivered corner from Kris Thompson was met powerfully by the head of Josh Lyttle.

Rangers had the wind in their sails and netted a second goal soon after with some quick build up play setting Lyttle free and he coolly slotted home past the Lurgan keeper.

Kris Thompson then made it 3-0 before the half time interval with a low shot from twenty yards rifled into the bottom right corner. Rangers finished the half strong with Luke Brown getting two good strikes away after some good work by Bailey Russell and Josh Crawford but was unlucky not to see them add to the scoreline.

A swift counter attack saw Rangers awarded a penalty after a foul inside the box and Josh Lyttle stepped up confidently to secure yet another hat-trick.

This Saturday the boys will be at Cheney Park to take on Armagh City in the Quarter Final of the Mid Ulster Knock Out Cup with kick off at 10.30am.

The Under 14s will also be at home on Saturday with an eagerly awaited league clash with Banbridge Town.
