“We are playing smart, winning rugby recently and although we aren’t getting the bonus point wins, we are getting the four points, so hopefully that continues against Thomond,” admitted Poole.

“At the start of the season we were playing exciting expansive rugby, but we were losing games, so that has changed in recent weeks and we are now on a great run at the minute.”

Poole, also believes that the Munster men have had a similar AIL campaign to them.

“Thomond started the season with a few in different results, but the like ourselves they have turned the corner in recent weeks, so we know it’s going to be tough down there.

“Our guys have really dug deep in recent weeks, particularly in our last game against De Le Salle Palmerstown and I feel we’ll need to dig deep again this weekend.”

Bob McKilliop may make a welcomed return to the squad and at the minute the big warrior is there only doubt going into the game.

“Bob is struggling with a bit of sickness but we’ll see how he is at training this week and I think he is our only player who is struggle, the rest of the squad should be fine.”
