This College team have shown dramatic improvement and after ten minutes into the game began to dictate possession to the home side.

It was only after half-time however that a succession of scoring opportunities arose, largely as a result of more disciplined passing and a better shape.

Julie Morrow and Aimee Williamson tortured the Down defence on the right, while Gemma McKitterick showed some lovely skills on the left wing to eliminate their right back completely.

Marshalling the defence was Shannon Davidson who spread the ball beautifully, ably assisted by Katie Webster and Jenny Patterson.

Susannah Horan was also in great form in nets as she made a couple of important saves from some counter attacking Down hockey.

It was the talented Julie Morrow who got on the end of a pass to slot it wide of a helpless Down keeper several minutes after half-time, but despite continued possession, further goals did not arrive.

This Saturday the teams travel to Victoria College, Belfast.
