Juniors’ final game ahead of the Christmas break

BANBRIDGE Town U9s traveled to Brownstown on Saturday to play their last two games before the Christmas break and came away with another two victories over Lurgan Town and Portadown.

In their first encounter against Lurgan the attacking Banbridge side started quickly and soon started to play some nice passing football particulary in midfield where Brogan McComiskey, Owen Wilson and Patrick McGrath were pulling the strings.

Banbridge took the lead after five minutes when Owen Wilson found the net with a low shot into the corner.

After this Banbridge took control of the game with Adam Hamilton helping himself to four more goals in the last 10 minutes.

All four goals were brilliantly finished but the pick of the bunch was a great passing move from the back ending with a Adam hammering a low finish into the corner to end the game five nil to Banbridge.

With their confidence high Banbridge played Portadown in the second game and again started brightly and took the lead early when a nice through ball by Jack Murray released Adam Hamilton who raced clear to pass the ball superbly into the net.

The one nil soon turned into three when striker Adam Hamilton helped himself to a hat trick with another two classy strikes.

To their credit Portadown never gave up but any attacks they had were dealt with brilliantly with keeper Kyle Bradford and the defence of Lee Whitten and Calum Kermath, the town made it four when a Hamilton freekick was glanced in by the head of Patrick McGrath.

With Banbridge all out on the attack now Portadown pulled two late goals back to finish the game 4-2.

Banbridge now go into their Christmas break and will continue their games in January.

The coaches would like to wish the young town lads and their families a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
