Juniors sought for team

Sammy Bates, Denis Croot and Ruth Neely were elected to take responsibility for the junior zone team and they have taken immediate steps to gain full information on juniors in the zone.

They are aware that many clubs have junior members and would like to make an up-to-date list of all juniors in Lisburn League/Zone. They have sent out a form to be completed or anyone interested can contact Ruth on 92622086 or 07889280090.

Two practice nights - Friday October 18 and Friday November 22 at 7pm and a friendly against Armagh Junior Zone on Friday, November 29 at 7.30pm, all in Eglantine hall, have been arranged.

It is hoped all juniors whose names have been submitted will attend all of these and also take part in the Junior Inter-Zone Competition.

More Zone activities will be featured in next week’s Ulster Star. The National Championships, starting on October 25, the Charity Competition and the Zone Championships will be fully highlighted.

• The St John’s Moira Open Pairs Tournament will be held in the Parish Centre from Tues October 29 till Friday, November 1 with the final on Saturday, November 2.
