Katie’s thanks to council for help

LOCAL hockey sensation, Katie Mullan, who is know a possible for the Irish Senior Squad, would like to personally thank Ballymoney Borough Counil for all the money she received over the years which has enabled her to play the sport she loves, writes Calum Telfer.

Katie (18) who is know moving onto University after attending Dalriada School, has been extremely committed to her hockey with Ballymoney Hockey Club as well as with Ulster and Ireland!

Her huge sacrific of time with having to attend training sessions in Dublin has payed off.

Among her greatest personal achievements are captaining the Under 18 Irish Squad at the Home Nations in Scotland in which Katie motivated the team onto beating off fierce competition from Scotland, Wales and Switzerland to be crowned champions!

She also attended the Junior Olympics 2010 in Singapore on the Irish Squad. We would like to wish Katie the best of luck at university and with continued success in Irish hockey.
