Kearns conquers at Gracehill GC

OVER the abridged course of 13 holes at Gracehill Golf Club on Saturday February 9, Charlie Kearns, playing off 14, was all-conquering winning with 31pts.

After a dropped shot at the 1st Charlie then proceeded to play the next 5 holes in 1 under. Even a little stumble at the 11th wasn’t to be his undoing as he sprinted to the finish line.

Trevor Moore playing off 22 was 2nd with 30pts. With some variable scoring over the 13 holes Trevor’s final few holes proved to be just effectual enough to relegate Morris Peden (12) who also had 30pts into 3rd spot. Steven Bell secured the gross prize.

In the Sunday Sweep on February 10 Charlie Kearns still playing off 14 was at it again taking the winners cheque with 28pts.

Charlie had somewhat of a roller coaster of a round judging by his scorecard as he had everything on it from a 2 to a 7 and everything in-between. Obviously if Charlie can exert any influence on the course set-up he would like it to be 13 holes every week!

Sean Dobbin playing off 12 was 2nd with 27pts. Sean demonstrated a steady approach to his round and his strong finish meant Johnny Munnis playing off 9 had to settle for 3rd after being beaten on countback. Ian Morrison collected the gross prize.
