Kennoway double gives Glebe the points

PORTSTEWART 0 GLEBE RANGERS 2

A DOUBLE from Peter Kennoway sealed the points for Glebe Rangers in this Belfast Telegraph Championship Two game.

And it means that after 22 league games Rangers have only lost four times with 11 wins and seven draws also under their belts.

The first half was uneventful enough with Glebe taking the game to a young Portstewart team who sit third from bottom of the league.

Chrissy Nicholl was playing in the unusual position of centre half for Rangers but Glebe were comfortable at the back.

The best chance of the first half fell to Portstewart old boy Ricky Dunlop, signed in the January transfer window, and he may feel he should have scored with a header in the 35th minute.

Portstewart’s ‘keeper Madison made a good save from Glebe’s Parkhill but he could not keep the Rangers at bay in the second half when Peter Kennoway found himself free 15 yards from goal and slotted home to give his side the lead.

With 15 minutes left a good cross from Elder came to Kennoway ten yards out and he headed the ball home.
