Kickboxing success for Haighton brothers

Topstar Kickboxing Club, Greenisland recently enjoyed more success when two of its members competed at a junior tournament at Fighting Fit Martial Arts Centre, Belfast.

Brothers Jack and Charlie Haighton were making their debuts. Jack, who is 11 years old, fought twice on the day and he won both of his bouts. His younger brother, Charlie, 7, fought once and claimed a draw.

Both have been training at Topstar Kickboxing Club for a year and will be hoping to build on their success when they compete at the prestigious ISKA Light Contact Kickboxing Event in Tallaght, Dublin this weekend.

Also competing at the event will be their older brother, Tyler Quinn, who will be aiming to extend his winning streak.

Members of Topstar Kickboxing Club train every Thursday at Greenisland Community Centre. The class times are 6.30-7.30pm for junior students aged 5 to 17, and 7.30-to 9pm for all senior students. For more information call Stephen Connor 07427 598457.
