Kieron warms up for KK McArthur race

Local man Kieron May will be dusting off his running shoes to participate in the popular Kennedy Kane McArthur Festival of Running, he will be running the Half Marathon on the 21st July 2012.

Kieron will be raising funds for the Bennet House Amenity Fund, in memory of his late father, Mr Donny May, who was a Leading Seaman in the Royal Navy.

Manager Melanie Truss explains that Donny, probably best known as General Manager of the renowned Fawcett’s Hotel in the town and as a rider in the North West 200, was a regular visitor to Bennet House.

“I am delighted that Kieron is dedicating his free time to fundraising for our Amenity Fund”, Melanie says.

“I’m also very grateful to the Race Director Bryan Edgar and Assistant Race Director Kenny Bacon, both of whom have supported Kieron in his build up to the event.”

Bennet House is the Legion’s Poppy Break Centre in Portrush, providing one or two week hotel breaks to serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces Community.
