Kilmandil for Aaron at Tracehill

WELL done Aaron Patterson who secured victory in the Kilmandil Cup recently at Gracehill with a fine 40 point total.

Aaron playing off 18 handicap shot a 21 point front nine following it up with a 19 point tally on the tricky back nine to win the silverware with a point to spare from Geoffrey McLean (11) in second .

Two points back saw a trio of golfers Stepen McCauley(5) Paul Scullion (27) Jonny Keearns(9) vying for third place.

In the end Stephen's 20 point back nine was a decisive point better than the others. Twos were recorded by R. Bell, D. Currie, T. Dykes, I. Harper, K. Higgins, D. McEleveen, T. Milliken, B. Munnis, M. Peden and A. Steele.

The following week saw a great turnout for Lady's Captain's Day with Philip Bell (12) scoring a great 44 point total to pip David Traynor (14) after back nines were considered.

Philip had a two point superior back nine with a 21 point total after a 23 point opener. If David had maintained the momentum gained on a blistering 25 point total going out it would have been a different story.

Liam Davidson (21) had a great 43 point total for third pipping Darren Simpson (21) courtesy of his efforts on the back six..In fifth Ross Bustard(17) carded 42 points. Front nine winner was Paul Scullion (26) with a great 26 point total and Ian Morrison(6) took the back nine prize with an excellent 22. Twos went to D. Brown, D. Currie, R. Davis Jnr, M. Dunlop, C. Horner, G. Horner, J. Kearns, W. McKeeman, E. Sayers, J. Sayers, D. Shirley, J. Sloan, T. Sloan, G. Smyth and P. Whittaker.

Gault Trophy is up for grabs next week followed by the Seniors Open on Tuesday 3 August with the Hat taking the place on Thursdays as usual.

The Summmer Cup continues with prizes for the best card of the months in addition to the six best cards total for the overall prize.
