THE weekend competition of September 5 at the Kilrea Manor Golf Club was won by Pat Conlon with a remarkable score of 47 points. The runner up was John Milligan with 43, which on most days would be considerd a good chance of winning..

There were three two’s recorded, by Seamus Hasson at the 4th, Brian Doherty at the 10th, and Jeff Marks at the 16th. The winner of the Friday night 9 hole strokeplay competition was Harry Boyle.

There was a good turnout for the Jerry Mc Allister Memorial Trophy, played on the 12 September at the Club with all proceeds going to a charity chosen by the McAllister family.

Play was in the format of a 3 ball scramble which consisted of two men and one lady player. It was won by the team of Seamus Hasson, Chris Darragh, and Evelyn Jackson.

Due to the soft wet conditions underfoot, preferred lies were allowed. Thanks are due especially to all the ladies who turned out to support this competition from neighbouring clubs, namely, Old Kilrea, Ballymena, Ballycastle, Gracehill and not forgetting our own members who one can reply on to support such events. A sum of 360 pounds was raised, and will be presented to the charity chosen at a later date shortly.The following weekend of 18/19 Sept.competition at the Manor took pride of place for a 100 voucher, one of the majors of the Club's golfing calendar. Congratulations to the "lucky" winner Henry McAleese, Xmas has come early!
