Knockeden, Buffs keep cup dream alive

Knockeden beat Central Arms to progress to the quarter-finals of the Pictorium Cup, while Buffs Club were rarely troubled by Coach Bar as they advanced to the same stage of the Loyalist Cup.

In a rearranged league match, BT/PO Club dealt Greenhills' hopes of finishing runners-up behind soon-to-be-crowned champions Bowling Club a blow with a 6-2 win in the Church Street clubrooms.

John Bamber notched a 155 checkout – the week's best – en route to an 18-dart leg, an honour which he shared with Arthur Kenny and Mike Stubbs. Other noteable legs came from: 19 - James Greer, Mike Stubbs; 20 - Tommy Wallace x 2, Damien McToal, Steven McIlroy, Millar Campbell, Sammy Greer.

As well as Bamber's checkout, there were three-figure checkouts from Arthur Kenny (Buffs, 109) and Andy Smith (Central Arms, 103).

Dick Sempey (Knockeden), Ned Greer (Central) and Arthur Kenny (Buffs) all hit 180s.
