Ladies 3s continue title push with three goal win

Bann Ladies 3XI kicked off the new year with a trip to Ballyclare 3s and came out 3-0 victors.

Bann had achieved an overwhelming win against Ballyclare earlier in the season and were keen to follow up with another.

With most of the play in the Bann attacking half, Bann had many chances and several short corners but could not make use of them due to Ballyclare being quick on the ball. Eventually, from a free, Hannah Hopkins was able to make a clean break at goal, leaving the Ballyclare defence struggling to get back. With a short push to corner of the goal, Bann were now 1-0 up at half time.

Ballyclare came out strong and determined in the second half with a few more chances but with close marking at the back by Annabel Stewart, Katie Uprichard and Helen Monaghan, Ballyclare could not get a goal.

Bann were able to get most of the play in their attacking circle and with a kick over the line from a Ballyclare player, Bann achieved a penalty stroke.

Rachel Groves stepped up to the penalty spot and with a strong push into the bottom right hand corner, Bann were now 2-0 up.
