City of Derry Spartans will field in both the mens and womens races but Foyle Valley may well sit this one out and instead concentrate on the Provincial Junior championships in Lurgan in late January when both their squads will start among the favourites for the team titles.

The Spartans are expected to mount a strong challenge for Saturday’s mens title but could have done with Connor Bradley in the line up.
