Ladies left shell-shocked

DROMORE were left shell-shocked after 25 minutes as they found themselves 4-0 down with the opening goal coming after two minutes, an effort beating Michelle Stephens low to her right.

Another fantastic effort from the edge of the area left her with no chance. All four goals could have been prevented but for poor defending.

It looked like it could be the same as the previous meeting between the two sides but after the disastrous start Dromore began to get into the game and looked like finishing the first half the better side but a fifth on the stroke of half time knocked them back once more.

As the second half began it was a Dromore of old that pressurised Armagh all over the pitch and pulled a goal back soon after half time as the Armagh defence was finally being tested.

Dromore were unlucky not to score more as a Tracy Orr free kick and a Kerry Taggart goal gave some belief that maybe, just maybe they could pull it back but with a few missed chances when well positioned prevented any chance of that.

Another Tracy Orr free kick went just wide and a corner by Tracy was also narrowly missed when the simpliest of touches would have pulled another back but it wasn’t to be and Dromore will look at the second half as a positive.

Dromore will hope to bring their second half display into their forthcoming games as they look to climb the table with games coming up against Coleraine and Limavady.
