Ladies look forward to new season

BANBRIDGE Hockey Club’s ladies are looking forward to the new season with confidence following last seasons success,

The girls are back in pre-season training at Havelock Park to prepare for the season ahead.

Head Coach Simon Jess stated: “The Ladies had an excellent 2011/12 season with all three senior teams achieving promotion in their respective leagues and our first XI winning the Intermediate Cup.

“We plan to further this success as we go forward into the new season. All senior players are encouraged to attend pre-season training and new members of all abilities will also be very welcome.”

Banbridge Hockey Club’s ladies first XI will play this season in Senior Two with the second XI in Junior Three and the Third XI in Junior Seven.

The Head Coach will again be assisted by Robin Madeley and Dane Ward with Aaron Appleton working with the goalkeepers

Simon added: “The Ladies aim to field four senior teams this year and are looking forward to seeing last seasons’ under-15s, who also had considerable success, progress into the senior club.

“All girls aged 15 and over should come along to Havelock on Monday and Wednesday nights. A number of pre-season friendlies will be organised over the coming weeks and it is important that all our players attend training sessions to ensure the best possible preparation for the season ahead.”

Pre-season training will continue during August every Monday and Wednesday from 7-8.30pm at Havelock with Saturday sessions also to be scheduled. Junior sessions will start from September.
