Ladies play off in 18 hole stableford

ON Tuesday April 23 the ladies of Banbridge Golf Club played an 18 hole stableford club competition.

In conditions where most of the ladies struggled young Melissa Whan had no such difficulty scoring a fantastic 40 points and being overall winner.

Section A was won by Carole Quinn and Section B by Una McSherry – congratulations to all the winners and thanks to Mary Jo Thompson, Jane Doyle and Vera Willridge for providing the prizes.

The Pink lady winner was Pat McCartan and runner up was Rosemary Cocks.

The first Open of the year takes places on Wednesday May 15 and is sponsored by Porters. The timesheet is now available in the Pro Shop and we would encourage as many ladies to play as possible.

Porters have been tremendous supporters of the ladies club for a number of years and the club looks forward to their continued support and sponsorship

The team matches are now well underway. the Intermediate team hosted Donaghadee last Sunday and despite some great performances the local ladies have some work to do on the return match. Good luck to them.

The Junior Cup team is in action against Omagh in their first round match which is being played at Banbridge on Thursday May 2 – tee off is at 3.45pm
