Ladies Seconds lose out in difficult conditions

South Antrim Ladies Seconds travelled on a wet and cold day to play Coleraine Thirds.

The ladies played at the Joe Dunlop centre on a gravel pitch. Under challenging pitch conditions, the travelling team struggled against a strong Coleraine side.

Novice goalie Carol Redpath played out of her skin and the defence kept the ball out of the circle and had a great game. Up front the wet pitch and sticky conditions made it difficult for the forward line to make many decent breaks through their defence. Although the score was 3-0 it didn’t fully reflect how closely the teams were matched. Well done to Catherine Faulkner, player of the match, and a special mention to Lindsay, Amy and Amy-Louise who have found it difficult to be available for Saturdays but played with great spirit.
