Lamont lands Anniversary Trophy at Gracehill

DARREN Lamont playing off 4 won the prestigious Anniversary Trophy at Gracehill Golf Club with 38pts.

After making the turn 2 over par, Darren continued making his usual steady progress playing the back 9 in level par - obviously those early starts suit him!

Robert Hegarty playing off 10 was 2nd with 38pts. With two corresponding 9s of 4 over par Robo certainly produced some solid golf. Stephen Cave playing off 12 was 3rd with another 38pts. Paul Shield won the gross prize with a 76.

* Sunday Sweep - On Sunday 5th May it was triple triumph for Ian Morrison playing off 6 who won the sweep for a third consecutive week with 39pts. With no brides it was pars most of the way round bar his 3 dropped shots - hopefully now that he has been properly fitted using Ian Blair’s Putting App those birdie putts will start to find the bottom 
of the cup!

Randal McDonnell playing off 6 was 2nd with 37pts. With a few 
dropped shots offset by 3 birdies Randal demonstrated why he is never far away from the top of the leader board. Eoin Sayers playing off 14 was 3rd with 37pts. Geoffrey McLean was the recipient of the gross prize 
with an 81.

* May Day Open - Monday 6th May - Darren Simpson playing off 12 took the plaudits with an excellent round, which produced 42pts.

After a great start of 5 consecutive pars Darren continued to make composed progress to the turn. His back 9 proved to be just as steady 
and birdies at the 15th and 16th 
meant he finished a resounding winner.

Randal McDonnell playing off 5 collected his second 2nd place finish of the week with 38pts. In true Randal style he wasn’t short of birdies and bar the odd indiscretion to befall his scorecard he could have pushed Darren all the way.

Colm Hendrie play off 7 from Ballycastle was 3rd with 38pts. Ian Morrison collected the gross prize with a 76.
