Larne AC members stay the course in Laganside 10k race

Thirteen Larne Athletic Club members took on the flat and fast Laganside 10k on Sunday.

The race boasted a capacity turn out of 1,000 athletes.

The route is also the Ulster Championship 10k race. The first male home was Nigel Kane, who achieved a strong time of 39.03 to finish in 127th place.

The first female to complete the course was the impressive Patricia Blair, who finished in 42.51 to take 249th.

Bobby Boal crossed the line in a sub-43 time of 42.59.

Next was club newcomer Mark Todd, who clocked 45.25, just ahead of Gillian Logan who crossed the mats in 45.55 to complete the top five Larne finishers.

Special mention goes to birthday girl Suzanne Reid, who completed her first 10k in a time of 59.45. Steven Reid, Emily Boal and Erin Beattie who all smashed their personal bests.
