Dale Smith and Laura Hamill took part in the Carrauntouhil race in County Kerry, described on the IMRA website as ‘extreme’, it included in the Irish Mountain Running Championship Series. Both ran well with Dale finishing 36th in a time of 116:30 and Laura 80th, in 196:38.

Amy Beggs added to her growing list of accomplishments, completing the demanding 85km Mourne Way Ultra Marathon. Amy was the fourth lady to finish, taking 50th spot overall in 12:21:29.

Andy Gregg took part in the 10.5-mile Flagstaff to Carlingford race - an event which he has previously failed to finish twice before. Andy was very pleased to see perfect, clear conditions on the day and finished 17th in a time of 2:00:25.

Larne Athletic Club’s Bryan Magee was delighted to finish second Vet 40 Overall in this year’s Hill and Dale Series; an exceptional result given the level of competition over the 11 races. He had just completed the Drinahilly Race, three miles with 1080 feet of climbing through Donard Forest in 32nd place with a time of 25:20.

The previous week had saw Dale Smith return to form, running strongly and finishing 39th in a time of 35:47, with Andy Gregg (40th in 36:17) and Bryan Magee (41st in 36:20) finishing close behind and Laura Hamill, enjoying her first run over the scenic course, 130th in 46:35.

Bryan Magee had been the only Larne AC runner at Rocky, finishing 38th in 40:01, while Dale Smith and Laura Hamill finished 58th in 38:57 and 123rd in 47:59 respectively at Meelmore-Meelbeg.
