Larne field 24 runners at Dervock races

In the 10k, Ray Bannon was first home for the club and 14th overall in a great time of 40.49. Geraldine Quigley followed her 5k win at the Dalriada Festival with a convincing win in the 10k race in a time of 43.53.

Gabriel Rodgers and Dan Magill both ran strongly to finish in 46.15 and 46.41 respectiviely.

Mandy Johnston was next female finisher for the club in a time of 50.57 with Jayne Liddle winning the F40 category in 52.53. Kay Drummond also ran well to finish in 53.24, followed by Elaine Hall in 56.11. Kerrianne Kearney and Stephen McManus were next home in 57.15 and 57.43.

Clare McGuinness, Roger Barham and Marty McKay all came in under the hour with times of 58.47, 59.02 and 59.35. Brommely Finn accompanied by dad, Eddie, had a very successful 10k debut with a time of 1.04.17.

Shirleyann McGoran took four minutes off her 10k personal best with a fantastic time of 1.06.47. Valerie Mulholland, who has only been running since March, completed her first 10k in a great time of 1.23.21.

Meanwhile, seven runners decided to give the half-marathon a go and it was Billy Thompson, currently training for the York Marathon, who was first home for the club and 12th overall in a time of 1.24.10.

Nigel Kane and David Noble both ran strongly in 1.31.57 and 1.32.56. Thomas Craig ran well and finished in 1.35.39, with marathon stalwart Sammy Drummond next in 1.36.10.

Paul Tilson, who has been plagued by injury of late, was next home in 1.39.31.

Heather Baxter, the only club’s only female representative, was happy with her time of 1.50.32.
