Larne Ladies defend unbeaten record at Ballyclare
LARNE Ladies remained unbeaten in their first season in Senior 2 hockey, but forfeited their 100 per cent league record when they drew 1-1 with local rivals Ballyclare.
After a scoreless first half, 80 per cent of the play in the second period was in the Larne half as Ballyclare piled on the pressure, but new Larne keeper Rachel Lyons was absolutely superb and Rebecca Dalton had a great game as sweeper.
For a variety of reasons, SlateNI.com-sponsored Larne were missing four regular first-teamers. Young Rainee Beggs was promoted to right back and earned high praise on her debut.
