Larne ladies team get pre-season under way

The ladies’ bowls teams at Larne Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club began their pre-season training with their in-club tournament last week.

Twenty-four club members played 16 ends, with Sue Willis emerging as the winner of the Nora Potter Cup.

This season’s president is Helen Russell with Marie Wilson as vice-president and the pair are looking forward to the first Private Greens league matches on April 23 when the senior team will be away to Comber and juniors at home to Belmont.

The Tuesday night league kicks off on May 5 with one rink home to Jordanstown outfit Ulster Transport and the other two away to Antrim Lawn and Mossley.

LB&LTC will be running coaching sessions for beginners starting in May and anyone interested - male or female - should email [email protected] for more details.
