Larne to host Irish Masters squad

LARNE Men’s Hockey Club is set to host the Irish Masters hockey squad as they prepare for the Home Nations tournament at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club on June 18 and 19.

Ireland will take on England, Scotland and Wales in the two-day tournament.

The Irish Masters squad consists of experienced players who have played at the highest levels in the sport across Ireland. They will face a Larne select squad consisting of current and former Larne players and friends of the club.

Darren Haveron, Larne Men’s HC Hon. Secretary, said: “It is an honour and a pleasure to host a squad of the Irish Masters’ quality in Larne. It is another step in our drive to promote hockey in the town, develop the hockey club and to form strong links within Irish Hockey. This is one of two exciting events the club is planning over the summer months, along with Larne’s inaugural Hockey Sevens Tournament on June 18.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the invitational match this Sunday (June 5) at Greenland Mutli-sports arena from 1pm.
