Larne trio go the distance in NiRunning trial race

Larne Athletics Club had three members take part in the second annual NiRunning five mile trail race.

The race took place in Ballyboley Forest and it started and finished at the Killylane Reservoir.

First home for the club was Bernard Brady who was making a return to racing after taking a few months out.

He had a super run and finished in 7th place (30:35) and won the MV45 category.

Next home was Amy Beggs who usually specialises in the Ultra distance but made a seamless transition to the shorter five-mile distance, and finished in 71st place overall (44:19).

The final Larne AC member to cross the finish line was Irene Beattie who ran put in a strong shift to finish in 77th place (48:55).
