Larne will not appeal Irish Cup decision

LARNE FC will not appeal an Irish Football Association decision to allow Newry City to progress to the sixth round of the JJB Sports Irish Cup, club chairman Archie Smyth has said.

After it met on Monday night, the IFA's executive committee reaffirmed its decision that City will face Loughgall on a date yet to be confirmed.

In January the tie between City and Larne was abandoned by referee Raymond Crangle following a mass brawl between players from both clubs. With eight minutes of the match remaining, and Newry 2-1 ahead, Crangle was forced to call a halt to the game.
