Larne’s Brady takes top spot at Termoneeny 10k

Larne's Phelim Mcallister finished 64th overall in the Belfast City Marathon. INLT 20-919-CON

On an undulating course, and the wind and rain to contend with, first home in the 10k in 37.52 was Bernard Brady. It was enough for sixth place overall and second place in his category.

Next to cross the finish line, after seven weeks off with an injury, was Kirsty Sharratt in 45.14 (3rd in female open). Ruth Wilson recorded a new PB of 45.48, and it was enough to take second in her category.

Janine Rainey also ran well, completing the course in 50.05, with Rhonda Wallace next home in 52.08 (pb). She was accompanied by Jackie Wallace who ran 52.10. Robert Bannon completed the 10k course in 43.46.

Raymond Bannon came first in the 5k race, clocking 20.02, while Rachel Bhamra completed the course in 32.33.

A magnificent 42 club members took part in the recent Belfast City Marathon.

Phelim McAllister and Bert Shaw completed the full distance, with McAllister crossing the finish line in 3:02:0 (64th). Shaw timed 3:45:36, 486th place.

In the relay race there were eight teams representing the club and first home in a superb time of 2:40:44 was Larne AC Olderfleet.

They were 10th overall and claimed second in the mixed category. The team members were: Wayne Morrow, Patricia Blair, Bernard Brady, Martan Keane and Craig Hutchinson.

The second team home was Larne AC Moyle - David Noble, Kerry Fokkens, John Neill, Nigel Kane and David Murphy - clocking 2:52:52.

Larne AC Inver (Emily Boal, Thomas Craig, Gordon Bell, Andrene Rennie and Stuart Maxwell) 3:40:08, 161st.

Tullygarley (Shiree Brennan, Emma Maxwell, Lyndsey Dillon, Roberta Barham and Lisa Hamilton) 4:13:50, 808th.

Larne AC Roddens (Marty Mckay, Geraldine Hastings, Stephen McManus, Roger Barham and Laura Rainey), 4:18:39, 920th.

Larne AC Drumalis (Lynda Moore, Helen Graham, Declan Mcgaughey, Rosaleen Humphrys and Cathy Baston) 4:35:58, 1323rd.
