Late goals sink Town Juniors U15s

BANBRIDGE Town Juniors U15's got their Mid-Ulster League season underway when they travelled to Dungannon to play Enniskillen Rangers.

The Juniors, with five new players in their ranks, started slowly which gave the initiative to a very strong Rangers team and were a goal down in the first 10 minutes. A scramble in the goalmouth which the Juniors had a couple of chances to clear and they were punished when a Rangers player bundled over the line.

After this the Juniors settled and took the game to the opposition putting some neat & tidy passes together without getting back on level terms.

The second half and after some pressure the Juniors drew level when Dominic Donnelly put a very dangerous cross into the Rangers goalmouth which deceived everyone and ended up in the back of the net.

The Juniors playing good football with passing and movement were rewarded when Ryan Finnegan found Conor Byrne out on the right. The wide man passed to James Ward on the edge of the box and he fired into the top corner of the net.

The game was flowing from end to end and Rangers pulled level within five minutes.

The Juniors went ahead again with another good passing movement and captain Gareth Hillen finished it off firing low into the corner.

With five minutes remaining and Rangers pressing strongly they scored two late goals to steal victory.

Nevertheless this was a very good team performance by the Juniors U15’s who played a good passing game.

It was good to see 14 year old debutant goalkeeper Shane Campbell having a good game
