Lurgan took on Lisnagarvey in this NIBA 1st division game but a late slide allowed the visitors to take home the majority of the points.

On Rink 1, Bobby Boness, Ronnie McCullough, Pete McGrail and skip Alan Briggs, were punished in the early stages as the away side built up a 14-2 lead after 5 ends.

Lurgan tried to fight back but could only get to within 9 shots at the half trailing 17-8, Garvey increased their lead came home comfortably 30-19.

On Rink 2, Ivor Mitchell, Richard McClune, Kris Matchett and skip Harry Cosgrove got their noses in front leading by a single shot 4-3 after 5 ends. Lurgan still held a slender 13-12 advantage at three quarter distance.

However, Garvey finished strong scoring 11 shots with Lurgan only responding with a single shot as Garvey won 23-14.

On rink 3 Gareth Bunting, David Millar, Stephen Poots and Alan Roberts trailed 8-6 after 5 ends. The Lurgan rink played their way back winning the next 5 ends by single shots to lead 11-8 and scored an impressive 13 shots over the next quarter before going on to win 28-15.

On Rink 4, Melvyn Hamilton, Reece Millar, Bobby Ruddell and skip Mansell Montgomery won the opening 5 ends building up an 8-0 lead.

They kept their momentum going and still had an 8 shot advantage at the half way point 13-5. However by three quarter distance Lurgan’s lead was just 3 shots. In the last end Garvey scored 3 shots to clinch the final rink point and heartbreak for the Lurgan four.
