Latharna extend lead with high five over Greenbank

Latharna extended their lead at the top of The Larne and District Snooker League to three points after a fine 5-0 away win at Greenbank B. Raymond Weir (27), W. Millar (21), Gavin Carmichael, Jim Jackson and Neil McFayden were all on target to take the five points.

St Comgall’s are two points clear of third-placed Linfield after a 3-2 win against Greenbank A. Joe Gribben, C. O’Toole and Anthony McCorry, with breaks of 38 and 30, secured the win. P. McCaffrey and Robert Kinnon won for the visitors.

Linfield sit third on 43 points despite losing 3-2 away at The Point. Raymond Forsythe and John Ferguson secured two frames for the Blues, with Jim Boyle, Gary McNeill and S. Girvan winning for the Point.

Carrick ‘A’ and Greenbank ‘A’ are level on 42 points. despite Carrick ‘A’ losing at Ballyclare Old Boys. Ken Knocker and Davy Wright, with a break of 40, won for the golfers. Declan McClean, Tommy Hart and Stevie Crymble all won for the home side.

Ballyclare ‘B’ came out on top in the Golf Club Derby with a well-earned 3-2 win. B. Irvine, Andy McIntyre and Ian Wallace all won with Trevor Mairs and J. McKay taking two frames for the ‘A’ team.

Ballylumford secured their 10th win of the season with a 3-2 win over St John’s. Michael McWilliams, Davy Irwin and Phillip Haveron all won with Damien Todd and Alex Robertson winning for the Mill Brae men.

Legion remain bottom after a close match away at Carrick Golf Club ‘B’. W. Irvine and Lee Topping took two frames for the visitors, with Jim Greene, Billy Hill Junior and Mick Jones winning for the golfers.
