Now the players return to competitive action this weekend with a derby date at home to Millpark.

Sinton could have additional competition for places in place by the time of the coin toss.

“We are working on wrapping up two signings in time for Saturday,” said Sinton. “It would be great to bring a few other players in and freshen everything up, plus increase the depth of the panel.

“It was frustrating having to miss out last weekend, although one consolation came from the fact that the weather proved pretty bad so any fixture would have probably been called off anyway.

“It is up to us to keep the momentum going and Millpark now marks the closest either club will get to a derby in the current situation.

“Lee Edgar is going to be out for a few weeks after damaging his finger in the previous match, so that is another reason why having a few signings in could help everyone.”

Play will start at 12 o’clock tomorrow (Saturday).

“We now face three consecutive weeks of fixtures and there is a real buzz around the club so, we want to capitalise on that and turn it into consistency,” said Sinton. “The fact the players organised a practice session for Saturday without any input from me as captain tells a story of the enthusiasm around the place.

“The target is to keep on playing with the same spirit and get whatever points possible on the board then look at the situation down the line, although the buzz around the place offers so much encouragement.”
