League restructuring leads to Senior 1 reprieve for Larne Ladies team

Larne Ladies have been given a Senior 1 reprieve because of league restructuring.

The local side finished at the bottom of the table and should have been relegated automatically but that is all history.

Several Premier League sides have opted to enter the Ireland Hockey League and the gaps in Senior 1 will be filled by Rainey, Raphoe and Grosvenor, all upgraded from Senior 2.

Meanwhile, Larne Ladies 2nd XI defeated Bangor 1st XI to win the Intermediate Plate at Stormont on Saturday.

Beth McFerran netted the only goal of the game 10 minutes before the interval when she popped up at the back post to force the ball home.

Larne 2nd XI now go into their play off game with Ulster Elks on a high, hoping to seal promotion in their final game of the season.
