League rounds off another season

The Bushmills and District League finished of the bowling season with its annual dinner dance and prize giving in the Royal Court Hotel.

President John McDonald thanked the Royal Court for providing an excellent meal with attentive service also clubs who hosted finals, umpires Jean, Jack, James and David for overseeing competitions, and Norman and Norma Ogiliby for engraving the trophies.

Prizes were then presented by event organizer Pamela Steele at the end of which John congratulated Benvarden on their Trilogy of Trophies, that was the League Champions, Charity Shield Winners and E&B Taylor Winners.

After this treasurer Daniel Steele presented an £800 cheque, which was the monies raised during the Charity Shield Competitions, to the Cystic Fybrosis representatives Hazel Mills and Elizabeth Harbinson.

Hazel thanked the league for the cheque saying that it will help support local people living in the community and fund clinical trials which will hopefully lead to people with Cystic Fybrosis having a longer and fuller life, anyone wishing to find out more information or donate to this caring charity can do so by contacting Linda Alexander on 0300 373 1021.

President John McDonald presented Pamela with a gift for all the hard work she does for the league every year and then he encouraged people to get on the floor for a wee dance to the music provided by Jason McAllister.
