ROYAL British Legion are relegated from Section B of the Lisburn Indoor Bowling League following a 26 shots home defeat by St Mark’s from which they only managed a point.

LAMBEG Parish are almost certain of avoiding relegation from Section B of the Lisburn Indoor Bowling when they came back from 13 shots down at the interval to beat St Joseph’s by eight shots.

At the sixth Damien Magennis was 8-1 ahead but Robin Campbell came back with three. one, two to win by a shot after St Joseph’s were quartered.

Stevie Mulholland started with three, four and after Jim Parkinson lifted a double St Joseph’s were 13-2 up at the seventh. Lambeg added a single but St Joseph’s finished with a four to win by 14 shots.

Two threes helped Stephen Kirkwood to a 10-0 lead at the sixth and after Hugh Lundy lifted a single Parish finished with two, one to win by 12 shots.

A single for A. O’Rourke levelled the score 2-2 at the fourth but Maurice Kirkwood won the remaining ends and included a four to win by nine shots.

ST COLMAN’S LAMBEG 31 (5) SUFFOLK 27 (2)

THE win put St Colman’s Lambeg safe from relegation in Section B and the two points will probably keep Suffolk up after the four shots defeat at the Lambeg venue.

J. Ward won the first five ends with singles and after Lawrence Long lifted a single Suffolk added two, one which meant a last end single still left St Colman’s six shots down.

D. McGreevy started with two singles and added another one at the fifth, but with the scores level at 3-3 James Burns won the remaining ends and included two fours to win by 11 shots.

Frank Agnew started with a double and finished with two singles but in between T. Gillen won all the ends and included a three to win by seven shots.

Two threes helped Gary McWilliams to a 7-2 lead at the fifth and after Michael Dunlop lifted a double Lambeg added another three before winning by six shots.
