Lewers shows his class

FAUGHAN Valley Captain supremo Trevor Lewers showed his fellow members how it's done when he clinched the weekend open.

Despite not scoring at the first hole, the 21 handicapper scored an impressive 46 points in near perfect conditions at the Waterside course; Mr Lewers had 12 pars during his impressive round.

Second spot after a break of tie finish went to Niall McTaggart (19) after he scored 44 points, while Jason Brown (22) also scored 44 points to claim third place.

The Winter League continues to hot up with Conrad Carlin currently leading the way after just two weeks. Carlin has 82 points, second place is currently shared by trio Edwin Downey, David McKeever and Tony Griffiths they are all on 81 points, while John Huw Cleghorn and captain Lewers are in third place with 80 points.

The Winter League continues this week as does the weekend stableford competition.
